Mika Pauli Häkkinen (HARK-ee-nen or HACK-ee-nen; born 28 September 1968 in Vantaa in the Helsinki metropolitan area, Finland) is a retired Finnish racing driver and two-time Formula One World Champion. Seven-times world champion and rival Michael Schumacher has said that Häkkinen is the man he respected the most during his Formula One career.

2000[]

Over the Winter, the McLaren's and Ferrari's had drawn relatively equal in their performance over testing. There was a tight battle for pole position at Albert Park. Häkkinen eventually claimed the position, however his position was arguably saved when his teammate, Coulthard, crashed bringing out the red flags and halting a blistering lap from Schumacher's Ferrari.
