Germany is a country in Europe consisting of 16 states. It first participated in Formula One by hosting the first German Grand Prix in 1951. Since then, the German Grand Prix has been held at Nürburgring and Hockenheimring (alternating years between 2008 and 2014), with a single appearance at AVUS in 1959.

The first German world champion was Michael Schumacher in 1994.
