- Bernie Eccelstone has announced plans to overhaul the current points system for the 2009 season. The new system would see the top three receiving Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and the driver to win the most races would win the Drivers Championship. BBC
- LG Electronics and Formula 1 announced plans for the electronics giant to become F1's technology partner. The deal will see the LG logo appear on F1 timing graphics. Autosport

- Red Bull Racing bought back the 50% stake in Toro Rosso previously owned by Gerhard Berger. Red Bull now have complete control over the team again. Autosport

- The BBC confirmed its commentary line-up for next season. Jake Humphrey will be the presenter while David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan will be pundits. Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle will commentate with Ted Kravitz and Lee McKenzie will be pitlane reporters. BBC
