"GP of America" or "American GP" in the calendar table?[]

I'm not sure whether we should write "American GP" or "GP of America" in the calendar table.

Should we go with "American GP", which fits better with the other 21 races in the table:

8* American GP United States Port Imperial Street Circuit 1 June

or with "GP or America", to reflect the actual name of the race:

8* GP of America United States Port Imperial Street Circuit 1 June

Any thoughts? GyaroMaguus 21:09, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

I would say GP of America Rugby Sevens are coming 23:27, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

Table order[]

A discussion needs to be had on the ordering of the teams and drivers table.

There are three options (which I hope you can visualise well enough).

  1. Order by previous season's Constructors' Championship. This needs a note and doesn't really make much sense, but it what the table is currently at.
  2. Order alphabetically by team name. It will change very little over the years.
  3. Order by driver number. Teams get jigged about when drivers with low numbers move about but the World Champion can be expected to be on the top of the table.

Personally, I'm not too sure what we should do the current ordering seems wrong to me. GyaroMaguus 23:27, January 10, 2014 (UTC)

I personally like it the way it currently is, if we look at the current precedent in the drivers table from the 1950s and 1960s, a time when permanent numbers were not used, the ordering of the table was effectively in order of the constructor's championship from the previous year. All our tables have been structured like this since the 1950 season. If we are to change this, the 2014 season will be the first season to be structured differently which is rather out of place in my view. I think it is better to continue ordering via constructor's placings as that is what will be recognised by reader's universally throughout the season's pages. To make such a radical change to the 2014 and following season's will be out of synch and will break the familiarity that reader's have in the article.

I'd order the table by 2013 Constructors' Championship order, in line with previous seasons. I don't like the idea of ordering by driver number, as a team may have one low and one high number which would look quite messy. If we go alphabetical (which I wouldn't), i think we at least should have the Champions at the top.

Thanks guys. Lets keep it this way then, and we'll order from 1959–1973 in the previous WCC position (Champ on top). Before that the WDC position (keep 1950 as it is now). Number order from 1974–2013. A note is fine. GyaroMaguus 12:38, January 11, 2014 (UTC)
