Roland Ratzenberger (born July 4, 1960 in Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria – died April 30, 1994 in Imola, Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) was an Austrian driver who competed in the 1994 Formula One Season for Simtek. Ratzenberger was killed during qualifying for the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, the same event at which Ayrton Senna was killed, when he crashed at the Curva de Villeneuve at high speed.
