Nyck de Vries (born 6 February 1995) is a Dutch driver, driver who previously raced in formula 1 for AlphaTauri. He made his debut for Williams at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix.
In 2021, he was announced to be one of Mercedes' reserve drivers alongside Stoffel Vandoorne.
In September 2022, de Vries made his début at Monza for Williams when he filled in for Alexander Albon, who was out due to needing surgery for appendicitis; de Vries finished 9th at his début.
In October 2022, it was announced that de Vries would replace Pierre Gasly’s seat in AlphaTauri for the 2023 season. alongside new teammate Yuki Tsunoda.
Following the 2023 British Grand Prix in July 2023, it was announced that AlphaTauri had replaced de Vries with sister team Red Bull's third driver, Daniel Ricciardo.[1]
