About Formula 1

Formula 1, often referred to as F1, is a form of open wheeled auto racing that originated in 1950. Races, usually known as Grand Prix take place all around the world on purpose built circuits as well as temporary street circuits.

Many of the world's top car manufacturers compete in F1. Cars are capable of speeds up to 225mph and rev to up to 19000RPM.

Each Grand Prix is regularly watched by a worldwide audience of around 55 million people on average. Around 100,000 people attend Grand Prix in person.
