This is the Lotus team that raced as Caterham F1 in 2012–2014. For the team that raced in 1958–1994, see Team Lotus. For the team that raced in 2012–2015, see Lotus F1.

Team Lotus, formerly Lotus Racing, and by company name, 1Malaysia F1 Team is a Formula One constructor that débuted in 2010, along with HRT and Virgin.

Having raced as Team Lotus in both 2010 and 2011, the Malaysian team has no relation to the original Lotus inaugurated by Colin Chapman, with the only relation to the Lotus name is due to the fact that the owner of Lotus Cars, Proton, was the project's investor at that time.[1]

The team scored no points in both seasons, with their best finish being 12th at the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix. For the 2012 season, they have been renamed Caterham F1, due to a naming dispute with Renault, who are sponsored by Proton. Proton and Group Lotus claim the Lotus name, but Tony Fernandes obtained the rights to use the name from David Hunt.
