Jochen Richard Mass (born September 30, 1946 in Dorfen, Erding, Bavaria, Germany) is a retired German Formula One racing driver who competed from 1973 to 1982 and won one race, the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix. Mass drove for Surtees, McLaren, ATS, Arrows and March during his career.

Mass is perhaps best known for his inadvertent involvement in the accident which lead to the death of Gilles Villeneuve at Zolder. During qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix, Mass was driving slowly back to the pits at the end of his qualifying lap. As Villeneuve approached on his fast lap, Mass moved off the racing line to the right to allow Villeneuve to pass. Unfortunately, Villeneuve had already committed to the right side of the track and hit Mass' car from behind at high speed. Villeneuve's Ferrari was thrown nose-first into the ground, launching the Canadian from his car and into the catch-fencing. Villeneuve suffered a broken neck and died later in hospital as a result.

Mass' career in F1 came to an end a few races later, after he was involved in a large accident with Mario Baldi at the 1982 French Grand Prix, in which both Mass and Baldi were sent off track and into a containment fence. Mass' car continued, landing upside down, and on fire. Mass only suffered light burns, while Baldi was uninjured. Mass retired from F1 immediately afterwards, as the race turned out to be his last.
