James Allen (born November 5, 1966) is a British journalist who was the lead commentator on ITV-F1 from 2002 to 2008. He took over from Murray Walker, who retired after the end of the 2001 United States Grand Prix, with Allen having been his replacement on a few occasions (in 2000 too). James's first race deputising for Murray Walker was the 2000 French Grand Prix.

Allen is currently the lead commentator of BBC Radio 5 Live's coverage of Grands Prix, news correspondent for BBC News F1 and Ten Sport Australia's reporter.
