Esteban Manuel Gutiérrez Gutiérrez (born August 5, 1991 in Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) is a Mexican racing driver who currently drives in Formula E for Techeetah. He made his Formula One début in 2013 for Sauber, staying with the team for two seasons.
In the qualifying session of the 2013 Korean Grand Prix, he made an impressive qualifying in Q1, qualifying in 8th place and then qualified 4th during Q2. He qualified 9th, but he was promoted to 8th after qualifying due to Mark Webber's penalty.
He got his first points finish ever at the 2013 Japanese Grand Prix, when he battled with Nico Rosberg and then finished 7th.
In 2014, he stayed in the Sauber team, with his new teammate Adrian Sutil, with his car number being #21. He left the team at the end of the season and joined the team's engine supplier, Ferrari, as their test and reserve driver. He would later join the Haas team alongside Romain Grosjean in 2016. On 11 November 2016, Gutiérrez announced he would be leaving the Haas team after one season.[1] In January 2017, he was confirmed to have moved to the Formula E series.[2]
