Canada is a country in North America consisting of ten provinces and three territories. It first participated in Formula One in 1961, and hosted the first Canadian Grand Prix in 1967. Since 1978, the Canadian Grand Prix has been held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (formerly Circuit Île Notre-Dame), with previous appearances at Mosport Park and Mont-Tremblant.

The first Canadian world champion was Jacques Villeneuve in 1997.
