I'm going to the 2017 British Grand Prix, everyone! And it'll be the first time I go to a Formula One Grand Prix!
Now, since I will be at the race, I won't be able to update the stats and results on the wiki until I return home, so unless someone else does them, you will all have to wait until I get back and update the stats and results.
Sounds like fun. Be prepared for hours in traffic, big crowds and not being able to move around much. Plus I believe that there is some sort of UN mandate that you have to spend all of your money there.
I can update everything after Silverstone again, but there were some templates that I couldn't figure out after Montreal, so you and I will have to chat about them. Will49 (talk) 01:28, June 23, 2017 (UTC)Read more >

I recently purchased volume 2 (1970) of the Anthony Pritchard series, along with a replacement to my volume 1 (1969) which had vanished off of the face of the Earth. Both from a place called "Vickers", in some place called St. Leonards-on-Sea, in Hastings. While the drop in the value of the Pound versus the Dollar since the "Brexit" vote might be unpleasant for most here, it's been a godsend for me. So I will exhaust these before going back to working out of my Mike Lang volumes. All for the greater glory of the Wiki.Read more >
I was working on the page for the 1984 Dallas Grand Prix, and was struck by a thought. There were a lot of retirements in that race, mostly a sum of very hot weather, a terrible track surface, and close proximity of a lot of concrete walls. Which to me are crashes, or, more formally, accidents. But most of my source materials insist that so-and-so always "spun out".Read more >
I think of a spin out as a car going off and either getting stuck, or just stalling the engine. And always preceded by an actual spin. The "spinouts" in Dallas were all of the car-getting-off-line-and-hitting-something-solid variety. I still remember the race on TV. The only actual spin in the race involved a driver (Jacques Laffite) who ultimately finished in the points. So the D…
The qualifying was both interesting and disappointing. The mixed weather conditions made me interested with some of the slow cars temporarily being in the top ten or in the top three in the first two sessions, like Sergio Pérez, Nico Hülkenberg, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Nasr being in the top four for the first start of Q1 along with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton both being in the knockout zone at the time. Now, I know that I am a fan of Hamilton, but I imagined that if qualifying could not be restarted at all, it would have been interesting. Of course, it was restarted because of the rain easing, but I was still glad that Hamilton went out of the knockout zone. I even liked how Nasr was fastest in the second restart of Q1 while the tra…Read more >
After watching the qualifying, I was really enthusiastic with Lewis Hamilton getting pole position, plus Nico Rosberg falling down to sixth thanks to his five-place grid penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change due to his crash in FP3, which it would mean no repeat of Rosberg taking the lead from Hamilton like in the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix, and a bigger chance of Hamilton winning. Plus, thanks to Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel's five-place grid penalties, I was happy by that 's Nico Hülkenberg and 's Jenson Button completed the top three.
In the race, I really liked seeing Button near the front on the formation lap and on the grid, and the same with Hülkenberg. Though I was devastated that Hülkenberg fell to fourth at the first corner, I w…Read more >
I've now been here long enough to get a feel for things, and the direction that my edits have been going in. My primary edits are going to be for the 1969 through 1972 seasons, due to my having access to the tremendously detailed 'Motor Racing Year' books by Anthony Pritchard. I currently own the books for 1969, 1971 and 1972, and am on the prowl for an affordable 1970 edition. It's a shame that he did not write any more of them. I check and supplement the data with sources like Formula1.com, Racing Reference.info and even (gasp!) Wikipedia, just to make sure that I don't have to make a lot of changes later. My race pages so far have been just background, entries, qualifying times and results, but there will be at least one more pass throu…Read more >
As a lot of Formula 1 video game players already know, Codemasters had announced in late May that they are releasing F1 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Although I do not have a PS4 or Xbox One, I am interested by its features, like the return of the safety car and Career mode, the addition of the virtual safety car, the Baku City Circuit being included, and the ability for players to choose their avatar, car number and helmet in career mode. What I am really hoping for is that the avatars in Career mode include female avatars, because I think this will increase the number of female players playing F1 games. Additionally, I am hoping the game has split screen mode/local two-player mode, as it appeared in games starting from F1 201…Read more >
The 2016 Chinese Grand Prix was good, just that I do believe it was a bit exciting for Lewis Hamilton to progress through the race from last pace, although I thought that if it were not for Felipe Nasr colliding with him when trying to avoid Kimi Räikkönen on the first lap, Hamilton would have made up a few more spaces if his car's undercarriage was not damaged by his broken front wing. In fact, if he did win from last place, I would have deemed it as one of my favourite races. However, I thought that the safety car did help him catch up to the rest of the drivers, and still had Nasr, Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean to battle with after he and all of those drivers pitted for new front wings on the first lap. Also, I was very interested by Fe…Read more >
As a response to Susie Wolff announcing her retirement from motorsport in November 2015, I feel a bit sad, because I had been hoping to see a female racing in Formula One. However, I am a bit pleased with when she said about hoping that other women would think about taking part after seeing her performance in the sport, along with that she would attend the races as Toto Wolff's wife and a friend of . Additionally, have Carmen Jordá as a development driver.
So with the good news, I will be hoping for females to compete in F1 in the 21st century.Read more >
I have enjoyed watching the 2015 United States Grand Prix on BBC Sport, especially when Formula One would have a race in America, as I like to wonder how many Americans are fans of Formula One.
I was pleased with Lewis Hamilton getting into the lead on the first lap, although I was worried if he would get penalised for squeezing Nico Rosberg out, because of remembering other moments from the past years where drivers get penalised for forcing another driver from a different team off the track, such as with Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso in the 2012 Italian Grand Prix, and Kevin Magnussen and Alonso in the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix.
I was even surprised that the would be in the top four for the start of the race, but was also glad to see …Read more >
After the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix, I am glad that my favourite driver Lewis Hamilton has won the 2015 Belgian Grand Prix without getting a bad start. It would also even make him safe for the championship with more than 25 points over Nico Rosberg. I was impressed about Rosberg dropping back at the start, with the main reason being that I am glad there was no repeat of the memorable moment from last year which was each other's collision.
Additionally, I was hoping that Sergio Pérez would keep second place and give their third podium, but when he did not, I feel interested by what he had said to the BBC after the race, about improving for Italy.
I was also interested with Romain Grosjean getting his and 's first podium since the 2013 United…Read more >
Hey guys i have made a page about F1, but not the competitive side of it, it's the funny side of it. The Facebook page is called "The F1 Bible". I post a range of stuff, sometimes we take all seriousness just like Jules Bianchi's death last week, we didn't post anything. So pretty much I just need some likes and support. Thanks for your time!

I have enjoyed the 2015 British Grand Prix, having watched it on BBC Sport. I also feel sad about it having already ended, because of my dreams to meet Lewis Hamilton.
I was like "Come on, Hamilton!" when he was overtook by Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas, and felt glad with when he made a pit stop before them and Nico Rosberg, as he was in front of all three drivers after they took their first pit stops. I also felt shamed for Jenson Button when he had to retire following damage from a collision, as he is one of my mother's favourite British F1 drivers. However, I was glad that his teammate Fernando Alonso managed to finish 10th so to give another point to , as it made me think that the team are suffering from technical problems throughout…Read more >
There has been the news of refuelling to be coming back in 2017, alongside other rule changes like to have wider tyres and less weight to make faster laps.
In my opinion, I think this may be interesting, so to wonder if it would break any lap records on the circuits, although it makes me think that refuelling would make pit stops longer, even though all drivers will use it. Additionally, it makes me think about Felipe Massa's incident with his fuel hose in the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, which I would worry if that happens again with any driver.Read more >
Been playing a lot of F1 2013 in recent days, however it is difficult to find an online game within Australia. Was wondering if anyone would be willing to race with me if they had the game on PC. If we can factor in a decent time for all then that would be great.

One thing that has been personally bothering me for a very long time on this wiki is the listing of the test drivers within the Entry List tables on the season's articles. I believe the listing of the test drivers can make the tables look messy and unorganised if more than two drivers are listed in the article ( hence, I assume was the reasoning behind making test drivers hidden if there were more than two to a team ).
Therefore I propose doing something similar to what Wikipedia has done recently and completely scrap the entire test driver collumn from all the entry list tables. However unlike Wikipedia I still believe it necessary to list and make mention of the 2013 Formula One test drivers, rather I think it best to reformat th…Read more >

I'm Giles and I am aiming to get more computer literate by completing your pages relating to 1950.
I have already added most of the key drivers, the ones that have scored points and will finish this by making pages for other drivers of interest from the featured races in that season.
I will also create pages for the tracks used in 1950's and the cars used.
I have never done anything like this before so excuse the errors guys and girls.
