Alexander Wurz is a former Formula One driver who competed for Benetton, McLaren and Williams between 1997 and 2007 in three separate stints in the sport. He also tested for Honda is 2008 and Brawn in 2009.

Wurz' best season result in F1 came in his first full season in 1998, when he finished 8th in the Drivers' World Championship with Benetton. It was during this season, at the Monaco Grand Prix where a suspension failure caused a huge accident in which Wurz hit the Nouvelle Chicane barrier head-on at high speed after emerging from the tunnel with no front wheels. Wurz was not seriously hurt in the incident and was able to compete at the following race.

He crashed a McLaren when testing the car at Paul Ricard.

While not racing in F1, Wurz had competed in six runnings of the Le Mans 24 Hours, securing Class victories in 1996 and 2009.
