The 2017 Monaco Grand Prix (officially the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2017)[1] is the sixth race of the 2017 Formula One season. It will be held at the Circuit de Monaco on the weekend of May 25-28, 2017.

BackgroundEdit

Heading into the Monaco Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel leads the World Championship by 6 points over Lewis Hamilton. Mercedes lead the Constructors' Championship by 8 points over Ferrari.

Following his retirement at the end of the 2016 season, Jenson Button will return for McLaren-Honda,[2] replacing Fernando Alonso for one round while the Spaniard competes in the 2017 Indianapolis 500.[3] Alonso is expected to return for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Before the race, the teams and drivers will have a one-minute silence in honour of the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.[4]
