The 2014 Pirelli Tyre Tests are the result of an agreement between the eleven teams and Pirelli that made that each team will devote one day of the first three two-day in-season tests to tyre development for Pirelli, taking place throughout the 2014 Formula One Season.

ScheduleEdit

ReportsEdit

BahrainEdit

Robin Frijns drove for Caterham and Pirelli on the first day. After managing to test at least two new compounds, Frijn's car suffered a hydraulic issue, and running had to be halted earlier than intended, but 63 laps had been completed by then.

On the second day, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time and completed 120 laps, 27 more than the next highest. Felipe Nasr drove for Williams-Mercedes, and completed 64 slow laps. He later complained about the difficulty of heating the tyres without tyre warmers, which at the time was to be banned for 2015.

BarcelonaEdit

SilverstoneEdit

On the Wednesday, Lotus successfully tested 18-inch wheels, intended for use in the future as a cost-cutting measure.
