Romain Grosjean had a extraordinary qualifying performance, qualifying 3rd, meanwhile his team-mate Kimi Räikkönen could only manage a disappointing 17th. But Grosjean's race could not be coming further, as he was hit by Williams' Pastor Maldonado on lap 1, putting him out of the race. Räikkönen eventually finished seventh in the race.
Räikkönen and Grosjean qualified 5th and 7th respectively, but Raikkönen was given a 5-place grid penalty for a gearbox change, so it meant that Grosjean would start 6th. However, Grosjean retired again on lap 4 after spinning into a gravel trap.
* Did not finish, but completed over 90% of the race-winner's distance.
