The 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix (officially III Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix) was the first race of the 2006 Formula One Season. It took place at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 12 2006. The race was won by Renault F1 driver Fernando Alonso with Michael Schumacher for Scuderia Ferrari in second and Kimi Räikkönen of McLaren-Mercedes in third.
