The 1990 Spanish Grand Prix is the fourteenth round of the 1990 Formula One Season. It was the 31st running of the Spanish Grand Prix as a round in the championship and the 5th at Jerez.

In the qualifying session, Martin Donnelly suffered horrific injuries in a horrible crash at Turn 12 of the circuit.

Ferrari took another one-two finish, with Alain Prost winning ahead of Nigel Mansell. Alessandro Nannini finished third in his Benetton-Ford.

BackgroundEdit

Coming into the 14th round of the season, there was only two men that still was in contendion for the title. Ayrton Senna who held a eighteen point lead from Alain Prost in the Ferrari. While in the constructor championship, McLaren-Honda held a 33 point lead from Ferrari in what was a two horse race to the constructor championship.
